Out of the wood work found in the Ardennes!
Gustav Knittel (27/11/1914 — 30/06/1976) was in the Battle of the Bulge together with Joachim Peiper and Max Hansen.
He was an SS-Sturmbannführer in the 1. SS Div. LSSAH who was awarded the Knight’s Cross of the Iron Cross, the German Cross in Gold and the Close Combat Clasp in Gold.
